"I was preparing to paint the sun rise near the Wynford Vaughn-Thomas monument out of Machynlleth on the mountain road towards Llanidloes. As the light broke, my Ìýpainting board was suddenly whipped away in the cold wind and took off like a kite. Abandoning my mission to do some painting I took refuge in my Landrover, found my flask of Ìýcoffee, turned on the radio and watched the sunrise hit the mountain tops in the distance accompanied by Fergus Nichol interviewing Kofi Annan on the World Service - awesome, a truly global experience."
