"I have always listened to the radio, particularly Radio 4. ÌýLost in Space was a favourite while I painted when young. ÌýI have the radio on in my art classes. I often work at night and Radio 4 is a good reminder of others working. Good plays, programmes on science and philosophy, medicine and history are always stimulating and inspiring. Arts discussion programmes I find lacking depth and a bit Ìý'chattery'. Generally Radio 4 is good company for an artist, stimulating, relaxing, and often helping focus. Radio 4 is a connection with the world at large."
