Ìý"Radio 4 is a link to the world outside my head. I seem able to tune in and out depending on where I need to focus more deeply- my work or the world. The radio informs my work without my being conscious of it. Years later I can Ìýlook at a drawing or painting and some flavour of what was on the radio the day I made it will come unbidden. It could be Glenda Jackson playing Elizabeth, Alistair Cooke's letter Ìýfrom America or Woman's Hour. I may not recall the words but the feelings come back as an aura."
