Working on my paintings I laugh, learn and occasionally weep whilst Ìýlistening to a wide variety of your programmes. Sometimes an item, or series of items will strike a deep, creative spark forcing me to instantly create the scene envisaged. RadioÌý4's compassionate news reporting from New Orleans during and after Hurricane Katrina evoked memories of my time living in the Big Easy. I felt the sadness and horror of the suffering inhabitants and had to paint this picture."
