"Every day I walk down the garden to my studio, where I turn on my constant companion Radio 4, before picking up my brush. Since June, when I decided to take a year off other work to see where I could get to with my painting, I have revelled in this daily pleasure of paint and canvas, working towards my first major exhibition. Listening to The World at One, Woman's Hour, the afternoon play and Ìýmore, my paintbrush often goes into auto-pilot so that the work is becoming less inhibited, frequently seeming to follow its own path."
